General clarifications
On this page the definition of terms and explanation of abbreviations can be found used in the overview of Jan van Dijk’s works elsewhere on this site.
Used definitions
Opus: Number given to the composition by the author. The first music work has got number 1
and is called “Prima Volta”.
Classification: Categorization of his music works by Jan van Dijk
Jan van Dijk has divided his works into these different segment abbreviations:

| Org div | Organ with several accompanying instruments (also orchestra) |
| P | Piano solo |
| PO | Piano with orchestra |
| P2Q | Two pianos and/or piano quatre mains |
| Sac | Singing voice solo, a capella |
| SO | Solo instruments – no piano – with orchestra |
| Th | Theatre (opera, ballet, tv, film, play, radio play) |
| Zdiv | Singing voice with several accompanying instruments |
| ZO | Singing voice with orchestra |
| ZP | Vocal with piano |
Year: The year in which the music work was composed.
Archives: The name of the organization which, or the person who has to be addressed to obtain
a copy of the composition mentioned.
All manuscripts are – on loan- at the Nederlands Muziek Instituut in Den Haag (The Netherlands). Intellectual property – including copyright – remains with the Foundation Jan van Dijk – Muziekwerken.
